Conditions in the classic car market seem to have stabilised and although prices are still at an all-time high, sales are still good.

Summer appears to be here, time to enjoy!

 

The Euro has recently strengthened. Consequently, the export market to Europe has improved, along side the continued strength in the home market.

Following the Brexit result in June 2016, and subsequent weakening of sterling against the Euro, export conditions have improved.

The resultant effect is that there is an increased demand for British Classic Cars. Finding quality examples of MGs is becoming more difficult, and therefore prices are continuing to rise.

Prices are still rising – your money is safe!

Following on from my post written in February 2015, I am pleased to report that the Classic Car Market has continued to show that your money is safe in this market!

As predicted inflation has continued to fall and interest rates have remained at an all time low. The consequence of these conditions is that people are still realising that a great way to invest their savings is to purchase a classic car , which can be enjoyed as well as earn them some money!

The MG sales have benefited from the above conditions in addition to several classic car television programmes, including the final edition of Top Gear which featured the MGB GT!

MGs are simply “GOOD NEWS”!

 

 

 

During the past 5 years we have been converting MGs from RHD to LHD and selling to the European Market on a regular basis, which has contributed to the high demand for MGs. However, during the past 12 months the Euro has weakened by some 20%, making purchases from our friends over the Channel more expensive.

However, although overseas sales have slowed down, the UK market is strong and buoyant. It is likely that inflation will come down further this year, and interest rates may also reduce again, and in my opinion more people will look for good investments, and enter the classic car market. Classic car prices are likely to  continue to rise whilst these market conditions prevail.

So I’m looking forward to a busy 2015 !

 

The anniversary of the introduction of the first MG B GT will be upon us in 2015, with prices to be increasing as demand for the ageless classic continues.

The fixed-roof MGB GT was introduced in October 1965. Production continued until 1980, though export to the US ceased in 1974. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking greenhouse designed by Pininfarina and launched the sporty “hatchback” style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the B GT offered the utility of a station wagon while retaining the style and shape of a coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster.
